We covered the entire paper with our letters or numbers! Next week we'll begin the next step of filling in the space around the letters or numbers.

Our Art Room Rocks!
Horizons Art Club
This is the first year Horizons Art Club has been in business. Starting in September we have been busy beautifying the Art hallway so everyone feels welcome and creative as they enter the art room. I have 22 kids from grades 4-6 in my art club. We gather every Thursday for 55 minutes after school.
Our first project of the year was to paint murals based on a famous artist. Students worked in groups of two and began by projecting their image onto the wall using an overhead. They traced the copied transparency on the wall with pencil. Next we used acrylic paint to paint the pictures to match the original masterpiece.
The murals are unbelievable and we've receivevd tons of compliments. I have a bit of touching up to do and I have made signs to hang next to each painting that tells the viewer the title and artist of the painting as well as the student artists. Soon we will be holding a gallery walk and will invite the master-students and their parents to join in celebrating our work.
